Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky Ohio is quite a place.
Their specialty is Roller Coasters.
Although, there are many other attractions as well.
Their newest coaster is called 'Gatekeeper' because the track forms a lovely arch over the front gate. In this shot, the gate is still closed since we arrived 20 minutes or so prior to opening. Nonetheless, the ride is running, presumably as part of a routine daily test.
This ride turned out to be not only the newest, but also one of our favorites.
The park is on a peninsula that extends out into Lake Erie. At places, the fence for the park directly abuts the beach. As a result, we had very pleasant temperatures, fresh air, and a nice breeze on both days.
We had a two day pass for the park, with hours from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. We did not muster the energy to fill all of those hours on either day. Yesterday, we were there from opening until about 7:00 PM. Today, we were back for opening, stayed until about 1:00 PM, took a lengthy afternoon break, and returned for an evening visit from about 7:00 to 9:30 PM
Cedar Point takes on a lovely hue around sunset.
As we departed, we took one last look back at the gate, and Gatekeeper.
Tomorrow, on to Michigan. Neither of us has previously been.
After that, Canada!
